The headstrong and competitive scion of Tohsaka clan. Rin’s personality is so compelling that it compensates her servant’s weakness.
She is the master of servant Archer and is not happy about it. She’s really opting for a Most Outstanding Saber-class servant to fight in the Holy Grail War. Her sole purpose in joining the war is to come out triumphant and having Archer is tantamount to losing. Though at some point they work it out as partners.
Her first reaction in gaining Archer makes one thinks that this character will be a pain in the neck. She sounds bossy and looks very intimidating.
Her magecraft is mediocre, though. The proof is Archer losing his memory after Rin’s sloppy summoning. Yet Rin learns to master the art of transmitting mana or energy on jewels and is also very capable in defensive sorcery.
She also thrives to hold on to her throne as the popular model student at their high school to hide the fact that she is a sorceress.
Surprisingly, she has a soft side as well and Shiro Emiya is the constant receiver of it. She trades her precious family heirloom pendant--that has strong concentration of mana--to heal Shiro’s fatal heart wound. Her sympathy to Shiro even prompted her to run for his rescue upon realizing that he is the target of other servants. Even if Shiro gets Saber servant, Rin never bears him ill will and even teach him how to properly use magic and help him out most of the time in fighting.
