Edward Elric is the adorable first son of Van Hohenheime and Trisha Elric, born in the 11th October. He spent his childhood in Resembool along with his younger brother Alphonse and friend Winry. They become orphans when their father goes aboard on a journey and never come back. Four years later, his mother died of illness.

These events triggers Edward’s interest in Alchemy. However, his eagerness to use the taboo art of Human transmutation to bring her mother back costs Edward’s arm and leg and Alphonse’s whole body. But instead of dropping the Alchemy subject, he further explores on it and become very enamored with Philosopher's Stone who he believes will bring his and his brother's body back. Talk about persistent!

Edward is the youngest ever to achieve the title state alchemist. He is short fused whenever someone mentions anything about his height. Of course, this just make everyone want to tease him more. His search for Philosopher’s Stone gained him enemies like Scar and the Homunculi. But his perseverance pays off when he did found the legendary stone. But, history repeats itself and things didn’t go as planned.
